Ad approval process

Before ad campaigns and creatives appear on publications included within the Mantis ad network, they are reviewed by humans (not bots) to ensure they meet the Advertising Policies set forth by Mantis.

How long does it take to have my ads reviewed?

Most ads are reviewed within 24 hours (typically much faster), although in some cases it may take longer (e.g., National holidays, ads with controversial messaging, etc...).

What factors do we consider during review?

During the ad review process, we'll check your creative's graphics, messaging, and targeting settings for accuracy and relevancy [in addition to the content on your ad's landing page]. Your ad may not be approved if the landing page content isn't fully functional, contains obstructive pop-ups, doesn't match the product/service promoted in your ad or doesn't fully comply with our Advertising Policies.

What happens when a creative is approved?

If all of the required ad units are approved by Mantis, your campaign will begin running immediately (unless you have chosen a start date in the future).

At any time, you can check the status of your pending campaign/creatives via the Campaigns tab in your dashboard, which is accessible by logging in to your Mantis account.

What happens if a creative is disapproved?

If your ad is declined, we'll do two things:

  1. Send you an email with more information. Locate this email in your inbox (be sure to check your spam folder if you can't find it). It contains more information related to the creative(s) and/or campaign you are attempting to run and why it was declined, as well as tips to remedy the situation.

  2. Show a notification in your Mantis account on the Campaigns tab. Refer to the notices in your account to learn more about what caused the denial. Sometimes a single creative is declined. Sometimes an entire campaign and all of its creatives are declined.

When you're ready to re-upload your artwork to be compatible with our network's Ad Policies, simply log in to your account and re-upload the creatives to the existing campaign and re-submit them for review so we can take another look.
