How video ads are displayed on the Mantis ad network

Video ads are shown on publications included in the Mantis ad network in one of two ways:

  1. Pre-roll video ads - Publications opting to embed video ads as pre-roll inventory before self-hosted video content.

  2. In-article video ads - Publications opting to use the Mantis appearing and disappearing video player can display video ads in-line with non-video content hosted on their website.

Technical specifications for video ads

Video ads and other dynamic ad types must comply to all of the rules for video ads set forth here, as well as the following:

  • Max standard video length: 60 secs

  • Min standard video length: 10 secs

  • File type: any standard digital video format (.MOV, .MP4, etc.)

  • Max file size: 300 MB

  • Aspect ratio: 4:3 or 16:9 (video will be scaled to show in different size video players)

  • Frame rate: 30 fps

  • No automatic animation: Ads cannot contain audio or flash animation that plays automatically without a person's interaction

  • Guaranteed viewability: 100% video completion of 2 seconds or more

How to create a video ad campaign on Mantis

  1. Log in to your Mantis buy-side account (or sign up for a new account)

  2. Navigate to the Campaigns tab in the left navigation

  3. On the Campaigns page, click the green Create a Campaign button to open the Campaign Creation Wizard

  4. In the wizard, choose Video Ads as the desired ad type (as shown below)

  5. Follow the steps in the wizard to customize your campaign's targeting settings

  6. Upload video ad(s) to your campaign after reading through our Ad Policies and Creative Restrictions

  7. Submit your campaign to be reviewed by Mantis

Video ad unit pricing

All video ad campaigns are required to bid on a cost per 1,000 viewable impressions (vCPM) price model. Bid for access to vCPM video inventory for as low as a $12vCPM.
